Default Black Square with spinning clock arm

I have the BB Bold 9650, for the past month everytime I click to open an app, try to type anything, close an app, scroll thru my apps I get this annoying black square with a clock arm that circles. It freezes up whatever I'm doing for 10-15 seconds if not longer. I've tried rebooting, cleaning cookies, cache, push content and it doesn't solve the problem. I just gave in and updated my software so now I am on the current verison and bundle. Still doing it and it's really ticking me off!!!

Any resolutions for this???

That is the "hourglass" and the process known as "hourglassing". How much memory do you have available?
How did you update your 9650? To which OS? Did you do OTA or install with Apploader?
How many apps are currently opened?
We would need more information to help you.

Went into Options, Device, Software Updates.
Blackberry 9650, 6.0 Bundle 2333 (v6.0.0.524)
What is a OTA?
Never have used a Apploader.
I only keep 1 app open at a time.
Free Memory is: 215344641 Bytes, if this is not what you're looking for please let me know how I can find what you need.

Thanks!

Try wiping and reloading your OS with apploader. And don't reinstall 524. 215MB free is kind of low. How many apps do you have? Do you close apps when you're not using them? I'm guessing you don't.

I agree. I think you should reinstall your OS using Apploader. I would use .600
When my phone gets down too low on memory, it shows the hourglass a lot too. I think something is using up all your memory.

If you need directions, pcgizmo (above) has the link to the directions in his signature.

I have had my 9650 for two years and I never have the hourglass like that for extended periods. Only if I am downloading something or installing something, or if I get below 160MB memory free. I think you are giving the OP the wrong impression.

Just try to reload your 9650 with .587 or 706. It should be work and run smooth on it

Yep, we have a greener than green OP here. Should have. A sticky on the line of "Bold 9650- prom unbox-ing to pro hood "

I all honesty, I shouldn't have said that. Although, I have had a lackluster two years with my 9650.

However, my issues seem to be rectified at least for now. Last week around Saturday or Sunday I had just about had it with my 9650. It was constantly locking up (now I had a few apps on it, but nothing excessive). I would go to make a phone call or put in an appointment, and the OS would just freeze.

On Monday, I went to use the GPS or something and it went haywire. It went into a constant reboot until it killed the battery. I called Asurion at 9PM that night, and at 10AM I had a new refurbished 9650 on my desk. Since then, I have had zero issues with everything except the GPS. I also haven't really loaded anything on it. But, I'm enjoying having a phone that is reliable. I think I'm still going to have to call Asurion again though b/c the GPS is not consistently getting a signal, and keeps losing it.

My wife's phone is basically doing the same thing with freezing, etc. Hers is also making some kind of crazy static noise when receiving data or talking on the phone ... sounds like something is frying inside. She is going to also call Asurion.

The phone I received has 6.0.0.524 (which is I think what I had been running).

Again, I apologize for giving the original OP the wrong impression.

Have you tried any other OS? 587 was the last one I ran, but I hear 706 is even better. 633 was also just released, you could try that one too.
