Default Is Asurion still replacing the 9650?

I was just wondering if asurion is still replacing the 9650 with FRU models, or the new bold?

I don't know but I'm willing to bet they have a good supply.

Depends on what they have in stock at the time. My friend and I both sent in Tours for warranty replacements in June 2010. She got another Tour, I got a Bold 9650.

All depends on your timing. I do know some people who have received the new bold but I know many more who didn't.

Good luck!

A friend who killed his 9650 received a 9930 as an insurance replacement. It probably just depends on what they have available.

Verizon. My BB isn't my primary phone anymore but I tried my buddy's 9930 and it's a nice BlackBerry.

Hey all, Just had to order a replacement for my VZW 9650 from Asurion. Ordered yesterday morning(11/25) and got it first thing this morning(11/26). Unfortunately it wasn't a new Bold 9930.. rather a refurb 9650, which is ok with me. So far so good, except BB Protect thinks I'm on a BES and won't run. Anyone have a solution for this?

The DM is great for backing up and restoring, but if ever it's lost/stolen it can be wiped remotely and or located through BB Protect.

Protect is great when you get a device replaced at a VZW store, walk away and restore contacts/etc OTA!

My Bold 9650 finally died (screen) after 18 months of HARD use. Honestly, it was tougher than the old/original Nextel construction phones. I had an old curve so I switched to that while waiting to make claim (was low on $ for $99 deduct) When I finally made claim 2 wks later I received a new Curve which was an inferior phone. After calling and complaining to Asurion (claimed since I was using curve when I put claim in that's what I was supposed to get) they are sending me a Bold. I'd love to get newest model but I'd be satisfied with another 9650. Ill know Tuesday
