9650 not restoring
Hey guys. So I was running Willboy's Hybrid V8.3 for BB 9650 with base OS 6.0.0.333. I decided to go to his hybrid with V9 so I downloaded the base OS for that version and the installer of the hybrid. After this, I wiped my device using BB SAK and did a factory reset. Following that, I installed the device base OS and then the hybrid over it, and shrunk it. When App Loader opened, however, I get the error
"The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator"
This happened to me once before, so I loaded up the Desktop Software and when it could not connect to the device, it gave me the option to update. It gave me a list of operating systems, and all of them needed me to install an "Updated Desktop Software Component". I did so. However, the message just pops up again. And again. It downloaded and I'm quite sure installed. It happened before too but last time it installed and started downloading the new blackberry OS. I've tried reinstalling the desktop software, using a laptop with windows vista and win 7, but no luck. On both the error just keeps popping up.. My blackberry currently shows the white screen with
"Error 507
Reload Software
For further information, please visit:
www.blackberry.com/507"
So yeah, it will not recognize any other 9650 software on the computer nor will it let me update... I tried wiping and restoring to factory again with BB SAK and still no luck. Any idea what went wrong? A solution would really be appreciated.
Thanks.

Uninstall ALL OS versions on the computer you are using. Download a non hybrid full OS. Install on computer. Delete Vendor .xml if the OS is not for your provider. Install via Loader .exe and you should be set.

Okay I have 6.0.0.600 downloaded. Currently installing, I removed all Blackberry software (including desktop software) and am reinstalling.
Thanks.
Edit: Thanks, that worked to perfection. I don't know why this wasn't working on the other laptop; I had around 5 freshly installed official OS 6's. Btw which hybrid do you think I should use? I want the snappiest - like smooth transitions and no lag whatsoever, I cannot stand lag.Last edited by FATALSH00TER; 12-29-2011 at 12:16 PM.

I don't use hybrids so I cannot answer this. Never saw the need to run one.
Edit: I also only keep the current OS installed on my laptop. Makes things much easier in case you have to wipe and reload or whatever.Current device: White Samsung Galaxy S III 16GB

Okay so my device is now booting up, I'm going for Willboy's V9 as his 8.3 worked quite well, and I have high expectations. What OS do you run on your 9650? How do you not feel the need to run a hybrid on that thing? It kills me to use OS 6 on my 9650, OS 5 was great but Facebook chat and whatsapp always had delays, plus I didn't really like the icons too much. Anyways, thanks a lot man.

Edit: Trying King V6 instead as I had the files already downloaded.Last edited by FATALSH00TER; 12-29-2011 at 12:26 PM.

I am running 5.0.0.975 and have had 0 issues with it. I don't use Facebook chat so I cannot comment on that at all. I run a custom theme, so the icons are not an issue either.

Same thing, I am on 5.0.0.1030 for icons I use a theme and for facebook chat I use im+.
When it comes to anything facebook I don't use the apps, they seem clunky, I use the mobile site and have all my notification's sent to my gmail, I get them pretty much instantly.
