9650 Boot loop after installing Blackberry Protect
I'm in dire need of assistance. My 9650 will not boot up. I was (ironically) installing Blackberry Protect. It was installing from App World and I looked away from my BB and then back at it. It was rebooting. Never asked to reboot. I knew this wasn't right.
Now it's in a boot loop. It will boot to about 1/3 of the bar, then it jumps quite a bit and an error appears that begins with page fault. It disappears quickly and despite using magnifiers I'm never quick enough to get more of the error. Once the error appears we begin the boot loop again.
I have followed several different sets of instructions on how to boot it into safe mode but none of them have been successful. I still end up at the page fault.
The methods I have tried are:
1. removing and replacing battery, waiting until red light goes out and then press and hold the back (aka escape) button
2. removing and replacing battery and immediately pressing and holding back button
3. hold the back button while replacing the battery and continue holding it
If I'm missing another way, I'd be open to suggestions. As one might expect, I'm pretty desperate to get it up and running. Since I can't get it to boot fully, I'm at a loss.
Anyone with any ideas on this?

I've continued working on this even after posting and have some more information.
I was able to see that it has a device error code 244 as well as the page fault.
After reading more, I realized that I have a "nuked" device so I went in to the help and was following the instructions from Kevin on how to re-install the OS.
I can get the apploader up and then I click to go next, it never shows COM1 and when I plug in the USB to my Blackberry I don't get the unknown. It goes automatically to the correct PIN for the device. It is a fast computer so I opened a whole bunch of different apps to see if slowing it down would help, but it didn't. I never see it say UNKNOWN it always goes directly to my PIN.
I'm at a loss and very frustrated. I have a busy day tomorrow and will be lost without my BB.
Let me know what I'm missing in this equation. Thanks! It's a great day for hockey!!
