Could it be possible to build a theme that has only "ONE" icon on the homescreen (updatable for weather apps... of course profile icon , clock , signal meter and battery), thas has calendar items (today style) permanently fixed?
elycruz did one that is essentially exactly what you described except his has a hidden side scroll (which makes it 10 times better). I think it his v-series.
