Default Why can't Blackberry e-mail have a nice UI

Like the iPhone/iPod Touch?

I am still new to BB (6 months) but I find the UI of the iPhone/iPod Touch SOOO much nicer than B email. Especially with IMAP folders.

I like how ast the email service is, but I prefer the iPhone UI on looks and feel. More lie a real computer.

I know the BB Browsers will improve in time (maybe not as good as the iPhone Safari) but will the e-mail program ever catch up in term of the UI?

The IMAP folders are nicer. The rest of it I can do without personally. I don't really have a problem the BB email interface TBH. Especially on 4.6 and up. You have your nice rounded field edges and HTML support. Looks great to me.

I just switched to the BB Bold from the iPhone.. Going to start writing my rant (on how garbage the iPhone is), after my last exam tomorrow morning.

This thread made me vomit a little bit in my mouth.

From reading the 5.0 story here on CB (well, scanning quickly), it looks like the email look and folder management is going to change a bit. You could have a look at the story and see if the new OS gives you what you have in mind.

Well said. BlackBerry's are built for efficient communication - function over form.

I'm not really sure how the Messages app doesn't look like the email UI's of a lot of PC email apps...

Also Skyfire + Bolt + Opera Mini are in development as 3rd party browsers, so BB's aren't really reliant on the native browser for enhancements.

yeh but none of that will matter if you dont have access to BES. Thats the #1 thing that bugs me about BB, their lackluster support for consumer customers cutting out all folders and other basic email functions that come stock on other platforms.

I've only been using blackberrys for a year and as long as I can receive and respond to an email, I wouldn't care if it looked like it was written with a crayon on a napkin.
