Where is now available for BOLD!
I've wanted to try this program forever. It's now available for the BOLD:
I can't post links, but google Where. They have it for the Iphone. It's a GPS application. Has widgets, etc.
Downloading now... - 12-04-2008, 01:16 PM #2

Tronyx's Important & Popular Blackberry Links (This one is worth the visit, Kids)
Real post....
ive had the phone for 11 days now, upgraded os to .247, unbranded using a different vsm, and, worst of all, i have broken the warranty seal because i blacked the bold out... - 12-04-2008, 01:27 PM #3

I'm not getting the SMS text for my BOLD, so I emailed their support staff for answers. Has anyone successfully tried this yet?
They send you the link to your BB, but haven't gotten anything yet. - 12-07-2008, 10:32 AM #6
I never got the sms either. I just went to where.com and was able to download that way.

Can someone explain to me what this program is for? I can tell from its name that it's about where things are.... but what exactly does it do?

Rik - you're the best!
Does it work everywhere - not just in the U.S.? - 12-07-2008, 11:15 AM #13
For me there was no sms or email or anything - just went to WHERE GPS Mobile Application, iPhone App & Location Based Services Development Platform and clicked on the download and it appeared in my download folder.

So I download the program and everything looks fine (though I wouldn't mind if the fonts were a bit darker and larger) but it's not doing anything. Every time I click on an option it says "an error has occured on this page."
Any thoughts? - 12-07-2008, 12:38 PM #16
I installed it yesterday. The UI is really bad, not intuitive. I got about 10 'oops - error' pages in the first 5 minutes. I could find my nearest Starbucks but the gas buddy never worked. I understand this is similar to MSLive but I am running .190 and cannot try Live yet. I dumped Where and may try it again when they work more bugs out. Michael

This is disappointing. I have yet to get ONE location for anything out of it. Nothing but error messages. Really need to know where every Starbucks is....

Works great 4 me. Odd.

I added it while I was @ Starbucks just now and it couldnt find the nearest Starbucks. Its now deleted.......

Yea I downloaded this and deleted it after a few minutes of use. UI is horrible, fonts are pixelated, LOTS of lag... And my biggest gripe is that all the widgets are useless (except for yelp... I'm still waiting for a worthy iphone counterpart). There seems to be too much overlap with the widget functionality that I kept thinking why I would open this app up when I can just use google maps or my navi program.

KareBare, I had the same issues as you. I assumed it was not working in Canada and deleted the application.

Well I've just deleted it too. No point in keeping it and waiting for it to work.
Are there better apps for generally finding stuff - like, seriously, if I am driving around and want to know where the nearest Starbucks is? Or sushi place? Too hard to Google and go through the list of locations. Any suggestions? - 12-07-2008, 01:57 PM #24
I was going to try Poynt but then when I was reading the terms and conditions, they said they would send me stuff by email and sms whenever they liked, and even if I eventually deleted the app, they said they would still have my permission to keep sending electronic communications.
Maybe that's all standard, but I said no for now and deleted it. - 12-07-2008, 02:36 PM #25
Just got poynt and I like it.
