Set your security timeout to longer than 2 min while watching a video, or better yet turn it off completely and turn it back in when you're done. The security timeout will kick in while watching a video and stop the playback... Just a fact of BB.

Yes, I am watching a 3g video using the bb default player.

To define security timeout in layman's terms I mean: after setting a password for your BB if you leave it sitting for a few minutes without touching it, the next time you pick it up you will be prompted for a password.

However, the secutiry timeout shouldnt occur when watching a video.

Does this help?

I've always had a secutiry timeout and this has never happend before. I've watched an entire movie with the timeout set at 2mins with no interruption.

The problem started happening after I downgraded from 5.0.093 back to .266 idk what happened. If i cant change this in settings do you think ill have to do a wipe and reinstall?

a few other settings were changed too upon downgrading e.g. my phone call log was set to "most recent" (with no icons) vs the normal "call log" which you see when you press the green send key on your phone.

Default Srsly?

Same problem here on a Sprint Torch 9850.
I have my security lock set for 2 mins.

After two mins of watching any video, the screen fades out and I when I press a button to wake up the phone I get prompted for the password.

The 2 mins is supposed to begin when the device is idle. NOT WHILE ACTIVE.

It must be a bug with the OS build.

Has anyone had any luck resolving this problem? That is, other than disabling the security timeout altogether or increasing the timeout time. On my previous phone (Torch 9800) my timeout was also set to 2mins and I never had this problem. I'm now on a 9860 and whether I'm watching a video directly from my device or online the security timeout always interrupts playback!?! Is this one of those things we're going to just have to live with or is a solution in the works?
