very lucky bold.
So yesterday, I was driving with my phone in my lap (like usual) so I have easy access to it while I'm driving, I was multitasking and totally forgot my lovely bold was in my lap, got out of my truck and SPLASH!! My berry falls from my lap into 18inches of sick looking water.. The phone had prolly be completely submerged for almost a minute before I realized what had feel into the lake of a puddle.. Upon realizing it was my cherished berry, I reached in and grabbed it and shook the crap out of it to try and get most of the water out.. Then I took the battery off and did the best I could with my T-shirt.. Then continued to blow onto the keypad at an angle to force the water from between the keys. After what seemed like 15 minutes of panicking trying to give my bold CPR.
The funny part is.. After all that pitiful attempts at saving my bold.. IT STILL WORKS!
Not so much as a crackling speaker or watermarks on the screen..
Well seems to me... My silicon case that I paid 6$ must have saved my phone.. The case wraps around to the front and it must have kept the water from going in the circuitry...
I had a VERY lucky wednesday. Seems I love my champ bold more then ever after seeing what had happened to it and the darn thing works flawlessly

Get a gearkeeper retractable tether. It'll keep your Bold from hitting the ground.
I got this one for my bold:

Yeah, like all the people crying on this forum about their cracked screens, water logged, and lost phones.
I have several of those tethers in various styles, including one for my Ruger Redhawk. I've never lost a camera, gps, phone, or firearm while backpacking or hunting, but I've found a lot of them (well, I've never found a firearm or gps, but lots of phones and cameras.)
