Try cleaning it with a cotton bud & some alcohol. Or, next time it gets stuck just press down on the trackball firmly and move it around until it scrolls normally again. It's what I did

alcohol yes but not with a cotton swab. the fibers get wrapped around the ball and eventually cause more headache

Yea same thing happened to my trackball. My gf was holding on to it for me but kept it in her back pocket(huge mistake).

She gave it back to me and I instantly noticed that it wasn't working properly. Like you said it doesn't feel like its scrolling quite right.

I just replaced it with a black one and I figured since I was going to have to take it apart might as well change the bezel as well.

    Thus being the end product:

Haha man I would replace the bezel and ball, but Idk. I have bad luck with phones.

Should I just send it back to att? Do you think they'll gimme a new one?

Check on line, if there is an "ATT Device Support Center" nearby you can go there and let them take a look at it. Many times they have parts like the balls in stock. I got one swapped out on my 8820 there - as long as it's in the warranty period. They were very nice about things in Whitehall PA and I didn't have to go without my beloved BB.

Hmm thanks, I'll look into the device support center.

Thing is I have a scratch on my screen, and I was hoping to get a new one. and coincidently, the ball stops working from time to time, so maybe I can just get a new one haha.

but if not, then i'll be fine with just the ball.

A device support center is probably your best option. Especially if you need to have the trackball replaced. Better the people who work with things like this all day than you replacing it yourself. I know I'd have a headache trying to replace my trackball. I'm a bonified *****.

agreed. not very wise to start taking the device apart. esp if it means voiding the warranty in the process. yes, i am not too adventurous when it comes to this
