Default Trackball clicks and moves but deos not perform "enter"

I hope you guys understand what I'm saying.

Just yesterday I found the trackball didn't work as it should. It moves directions and can be clicked but doesn't respond. I have to press the enter button instead.

I'm not sure what causes this because there were no signs of problems before. I'm assuming it might be because of some moisture as yesterday I went ice-skating and had my bold 9000 in my pocket (not wet, I didn't fell on the floor). The battery was dead and then I went back home and recharged it. All the buttons seemed to go wrong. The trackball firstly looked like it was stuck (not physically, it was kicking fine) since on the screen it showed short menu all the time, and the qwerty keyboard didn't function properly (it showed letter u when i pressed a for example) so I restarted the device. After the first restart, the trackball stopped sticking as no short menu was shown but still didn't respond to clicks. It only worked when I pressed it very hard. Now the keyboard worked fine so I tried pulling the battery off and blew some winds in the back. After I put the battery back in everything worked fine, only the trackball wouldn't respond to clicks, and it still won't.

Anyone know what might be the cause and how to fix it?

Sometimes humidity screws it up. I had same problem before, try drying it out a little.

Probably your trackball dome switch needs to be replaced. It is a copper piece beneath the trackball. Until you replace it, you can use the enter key to select after you scroll to the correct point on a page.

This is definitely an old problem not seen much anymore, but it can be dealt with fairly easily.
