Is there a version of Bold 9000 that should not be updated to OS 5?

I bought a Bold 9000 for my sister and updated it to 5.0 and two days later when I pulled the battery to switch SIM card the phone refused to boot. Only red led and nothing else. I took it to service and they said that some versions of Bold 9000 should not be updated to OS 5. Ive never heard of that, is it true? Cuz I payed 15eur for them to bring it back to life and its running 4.6 but Id like to update it back to OS 5. Should I do it?

I bought a bold 9000 last night and followed some instructions that had me wipe the phone completely and use the loader to install OS 5

I have about 43meg available for applications and the phone is running awesome.

Try wiping it completely before you install OS 5. Owning 3 bold 9000's over the years, I've never heard of that and can't see it true.

Service guy said that there are more versions of Bold 9000 and that this is 9000-M and should not be updated. So Im gonna do it?
