Default SOS, Initialization failed, unlocked, used.

Ok so when i put my sim card into the blackberry bold 9000 i order unlocked from eBay the top of the screen will no longer say insert sim but it will say initialization failed and the SOS signal will show up. It is unlocked from what i can tell. Everything is disabled including network. When i go to mobile network it says mobile network: Rogers Wireless, automatic and 3g & 2g. I am with Rogers Wireless so it does seem to recognize the sim.
The software is v4.6.0.304

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Upgrade the device to the latest OS through blackberry desktop software. Examine the sim contacts under the battery.
