Default Signal Issues

It started happening a few months ago. I hadn't changed a thing; not the firmware, not the carrier, not the SIM, everything was the same and yet the damned SOS started appearing every time I was indoors. I've tried everything anyone's suggested to remedy this but it hasn't worked.

The signal is decent to average when I'm outdoors but horrendously bad when I'm not - I have to balance my phone vertically on a windowsill to get my messages. Is there a simple solution I'm missing? It can't be the carrier either because I've tried every carrier where I live (Pakistan) and it's still the same.

I've had the same issue for about 5 days now and it's really frustrating. The signal is all over the place, too. EDGE, GPRS, GSM, 3G, SOS, Searching for network...and I'm even sitting in the same location. I did a battery pull, just to see if it needed a reboot, but that didn't change anything. My Bold is about 2-1/2 years old, so I'm wondering if it's just time for an upgrade. Thoughts?

I'm having the exact same problem that zoomzoom71 is having. It's been this way for months now. I'm upgrading to a Torch 9810 soon since I can't wait any more for the 9900.

Default Signal Issues

Hi Guys,
I had the exact same problem in the UK. I took the back cover off and found 2 screws missing- top left corner apparently is important!
Anyway, the phone was secondhand and a bit battered so I brought six new screws off ebay, changed all the old ones for new and now I've got top class reception and 3G.

This might not apply to you as it sounds like a network issue but its always worth a try.
