Default Remove IT Policy - error on policy file

    Hello!

I needed to clear the IT policy from my BB Bold. I followed the instructions:

    - backup
    - wipe handheld
    - replace policy.bin file
    - restore

The phone works just fine. The policy appears to be gone, and I can set the security options as I want.

However, when I start my Blackberry Desktop, I get an error saying "error reading policy file. Please contact your Administrator". Any idea what the issue is and how to correct it?

    Thank you!

Where did you get this phone? Is it through your job? You might not want to do that if that is the case...

No - the phone was purchased new, and is mine.

Ok Different guy, I downloaded crackutil and tried the remove it policy, and i get error, operation aborted. I downloaded the utility to my desktop, plugged in my BB 9900 and it asked for my password. I did that and then followed the instructions, went to advanced options and had to enter "ResetITPolicy" in the window that came up. Then I got the error message.

This is the wrong Bold forum. The procedure for the 9000 on OS 4/5 is not the same. You should try the 9900 forum.
