power up issue

Hi Folks

Having some issues with a Bold 9000. This phone is an ex o2 handset and is totally standard apart from a new screen and high capacity battery but this fault was present before these were fitted.
If the handset switches off from a flat battery or the battery gets removed and put back in it will not switch on. I have tried putting it on charge and leaving it for hours but it will not charge. if i take the battery out and put it back in lots of times it will eventually come on but usually when i get pissed off and slam it in. i changed the fascia set and the main chassis that holds the battery incase this was at fault. I also cleaned the battery contacts on the main board too just incase but its still doing it.
Any ideas? im totally lost with it.

could also be a battery connector problem............. worst case scenario, faulty board problem. And u said u tried another battery, right?

yeah. it done it on its original battery and the new one too. to add to the list its now started switching off randomly. I can get it to power up without a battery if i plug it into the pc/desktop software.
its getting close to becoming an ornament. lol

Hmmmmm...... I'm still thinking maybe the battery connector MIGHT be the issue..... I cant be 100% sure .....these things need to be physically looked at to determine . I know the connector itself has 4 legs, prolly one is mis-aligned..... i dunno
