It will be sooner rather than later. RIM is close to rolling out BES 5.0. They also want to be able to push out the 5.0 device software in relation or close to the release of 5.0. I'm sorry, I cannot give you a specific date, but it won't be next year or anything like that.

I highly doubt that a carrier is going to release this OS that soon. The carriers had 4.5 for over a year before finally releasing it officially. Although I don't know how long the carriers have had this OS, I do know that the builds are still in the early stages. If I had to guess, I would say that we could see an official release of this OS as early as October. But just a guess, so dont hold me to it. And lets not start the whole "When do you think it will be out" threads as they just take up muchly needed forum space, lol. I hope we will see it sooner though.

Although I definitely would go by what this guy says instead!!^^^

Unlike many other sites, here on CrackBerry we try to deliver accurate information so when someone like Crucial_Xtreme says he knows, I will believe that information over other members or sites who really have no clue as to what is going on.

This is why CrackBerry.com is about to pass 1 000 000 members in just over 2 years since starting. Our members have voted with their feet and are here.

So, while we waiting for os 5 official realese, could you give regular bb user like me a suggestion which the best os should be used. Because I really confuse with many pro and con about os version but I want the best os on my bb.
    Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure he means some time this year, and not next year.

From what I remember, BES 5.0 is gonna be announced at WES, and like CX said they don't want it too far behind. So I think it'll be in the next couple months.

Yeah if the 5.0 builds are being uploaded for the carriers it sounds like it's not too far away.

5.0? AT&T hasn't even released .247 yet. They can't even get their visual voice working when 3rd party apps have them running fine

I would word that the other way around for sure. Most do, some don't. Oddly, facebook (made by RIM) and RIM-made IM clients are amongst the seemingly short list of what does not. Coincidence?

No, but there's absolutely no advantage to using your own carrier's builds... I believe Vodaphone just made .266 official, so you can now have the latest 4.6 to be released, without even having to use a beta.

When or If at&t get .266, Is it the same .266 that's out now?

If So, There is only one .266 version around the world? They don't make it different for any other carrier?

The betas and the Official Releases are the exact same except the Vendor.xml file is empty on the betas and not on Official Releases. Other than that they are the same.
