i'm starting to get really frustrated with the installation process. I've updated the OS on my Bold 3 times before and this time around it doesn't seem to be working. I've deleted the vendor file, installed the software, and connected my BB and it keeps telling me there are no updates necessary. I even tried deleting the vendor file after I installed the software just for kicks to see if that would do anything and nothing happened. Any help would be really appreciated. Sorry if this was asked already before...

i am in the apploader folder right now, i already deleted the vendor file. i don't see a loader.exe. All i see is a application loader. i already tried this and all it does is backup my info and restore it. Any more help?? thank you

Make sure to be using DM 4.6 and/or only use the apploader to install it. The apploader is in the same folder the vender.xml is/was in.

I have not installed it yet as i am waiting for all you testers to test it out for me....

Battery life?
Memory?
Lag?
Reboot time?

.266 is good for me so far in all those areas, so for me to jump to .282 i must need to know like most of us if .282 is a hummer of a OS to jump to?

Here's the fix for that:

1) Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\ and find the file 'net_rim_bb_vmm.alx'.

2) Use notepad to edit net_rim_bb_vmm.alx. Find and change "required" from true to false. This will allow vmm to be uncheck and unselected instead of forced in the install or upgrade process.

3) Save the file. If notepad will not let you save the changes via File/Save, close the file by X-ing out of notepad and you be prompted to save it. VISTA USERS NOTE: If you have trouble saving the file from notepad, save it to the desktop and then manually move it to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\

4) Start Desktop manager

5) Connect Bold

6) Go to Apploader - use Add/Remove Programs

7) Uncheck the Visual Voice Mail box

8) Proceed with updating
