hmmmmm..... i guess all that glitters aint gold but im willing to settle for quickpull not working vs. the complete awesomeness of this Built weird this was the second 5.0 to be released and also the second to get a carrier stamp of approval seems like Rim is getting closer to having a fully functional 5.0 for At&t! but until then

I LOVE 464! F*#kin Awesome!

Same here, I used quickpull every morning with 4.6. I even bought QP Pro for the 5.0 but still no go. Seems to have issues if using a BES account, was no problem with 4.6. Anyway, 5.0 seems to working out for me pretty good.

yup, just "go ahead like normal"... but first u must install 464 on ur PC and BEFORE u run DM to upgrde ur Bold make sure u reset ur PC again -just in case- so everything is fresh... in other words last thing u do BEFORE installing OS on ur device: restart PC...

after u install 464 on ur Bold successfully unplug it, shut down DM and restart ur PC AGAIN... then run DM one more time... this time u should have da options for adding recognition/input to Asian languages -for some ppl it worked da first time, but for others like me it worked da 2nd time i ran DM-
Thanks

I loaded 464 2 days ago I DL the one from Jersey Telecom and Wave Telecom and its been great. I had been using password to unlock and case to lock, so no problems with locking. Like the blue cursor too. Had to reload BB msgr and Fbook but went ok. Seems to operate faster.

Yeah, I can see how running out of memory or battery charge prematurely can be "trivial".

Fact is that OS 5 is nowhere near as stable as 4.6 was. It seems as the builds go on smaller bugs get fixed here and there, but battery drain and memory management issues seem to develop more, and those are 2 REALLY big issues. This is more than likely why AT&T hasn't released an official version yet, because they haven't been given a build that's worthy of an official release yet.

That whole statement there is totally true. I was hoping by now, to see things looking up for the 5.0 by now at least.

No idea why the Loader can't find my Bold.
Anybody have solutions?

I followed the instructions step-by-step and this isn't my first time. I've updated before.
The computer detects it and everything. I can even go through the drives and stuff.
The Loader just can't seem to find it.

I'm using 4.0.0.247 and trying to update to this.

Help!

Hi I installed the OS from jersey telcom website everythings cool its working but there is a problem which I need help.

BB messenger was not included in the new OS and I tried to download it ( the version 5) it downloaded and said the installation was successful. But I cannot see the application itself in any of the files. Also it is not listrd in the application list in options menu.

It is the same thing for AppWorld. What would be the problem.

Well here's a new one for me.
Not using my Bold at the moment, am on an iPhone but like to keep the OS up to date and was using an old leak from last year.

Trying to update the usual way via removing vendor.xml and blah blah blah.

Anyway the process starts fine, but when it reboots into the "connecting to device ROM" stage, the phone reboots and then tells me the USB charging current is not sufficient - ie: it's not connecting to the PC, where it was working fine before it rebooted to connect to ROM.

I take the cable out, it resets the reboot, it happens again, infinite loop of reset unless I cancel the update when it says "Application loader could not connect to your device. Pleasure ensure your device is securely connected to your computer and press retry".

This hasn't ever happened before!
What's going on?

Also, this BB won't update the OS via DM. It tells me it's done when it clearly isn't.

It doesn't have INPUT support for Japanese (or even Chinese, for that matter), just like I thought, because this is a multilanguage OS, NOT an East Asia OS. You seem to be mixing up being able to DISPLAY the languages, and being able to TYPE in the languages. I'm on the screen right now; it's waiting for me to tell it to update my device. The only INPUT options are:

- Afrikaans
- Danish
- Swedish
- Norwegian

So, I'm not quite sure how, if you're serious that you can actually type in Japanese on your phone right now with just this OS, and you not doing anything special at all, you can type in it.

I finally took the plunge and upgraded to 5.0.0.464 from 4.6.0.519.

There is a great speed increase and memory increase. The facebook app is much quicker than it used to be. I really like the threaded sms too.

As stated many times before, the wifi will not automatically connect to a preferred network but does work if connected manually. I am noticing a very slight delay (when the device is in standby) from hitting a button to the display lighting up.
