Red face Newbie questions regarding BB 9000

    Hi all,

I just purchased a Blackberry 9000 today and I have absolutely no idea as to how I get the software to work. I see that it comes with "word to go" but when I try to create a new document it says that I need the premium. The salesperson at Rogers told me that it has everything that I need and it should all work. I also can't set-up my email accounts because it only has 1 option that asks me if I want to use a Blackberry Enterprise account.

Can someone please help me to understand this device. I also clicked on a few links of recommended software but nothing seems to work either.

    Thanks

For the email situation I believe you need to have a data plan.and with word to go you can put documents on your bold from your computer and read them but to create a new document on your bold you have to upgrad to premium

I actually do have a data plan/voice plan @ 1gb. Maybe they forgot to activate it. As for the document problem, I just realised that I can copy the documents and then open it from the BB.

Is there any free software for the bb 9000, something similar to word?

    Thanks for your help

Docs to Go Trick: Copy a blank word doc to your bold and call it untitled.doc or something like that. When you need a new doc, just open untitled.doc and choose "save as" and give it a new name. You just created a new document without the Premium version. I use this so much that I uninstalled the memo pad.

Default How do I setup my bb bold to lock when holstered?

    Hey everyone,

How do I make sure that my Bold locks automatically when put in a holster?
I am using the case that came in the box with the Bold and it would lock it at first but it is not doing that anymore? Is it possible I turned off that feature somehow? Where do I go to check that on the phone?

    Thanks so much

    Aaron

I have another idea in case this thread gets hijacked with that last question:
