I just LOVE the bold, I have a fixation (obsession ...?) with the bold model, it a shame that mine is damaged.

Very nice! ... I'm thinking of ordering a different bezel, one that's all black. Also, this one, even though it looks nice, seems to be cheaply made. It feels cheap and not sturdy at all. I've also noticed that since installing it, the mute key is super sensitive - like, I'll be in the middle of texting and my phone will just go into keyboard lock, idk how or why that is, but it happens frequently. I switched out to the previous bezel just to compare and it never happened once. So I'm guessing that the buttons just don't align right with this one. But at least it'll look nice until I can get a better quality bezel.

Get a glossy one. It lasts longer. I had a matte bezel before, very poor quality.
I love my 9000. Not sure that I want to switch to new Bold Touch.

Looks nice! I did mine a few years ago, the black glossy bezel. It's flaked off in areas, on the right side mostly, though it's still black underneath that. I don't mind really, though I'd swap it out on a new one if I were to do a hand me down on this Bold sometime in the future.

Looks good OP. It is amazing how just a few small changes can breathe new life into an older phone.

The best quality bezels, faceplates and battery covers are from iPhone accessories - BlackBerry accessories - Cell Phone Accessories at Wholesale Price .. I used to have a bb 9000 black and dark gold with a carbon fibre battery cover and it looked amazing!!

I just replaced the housing on my 9000 last night. Went with the black and black keys. Looks much better then the chrome bezel that was original. Only thing I found was that with the replacement keyboard the track ball seemed to sit much lower and was harder to use. I did a comp with the original and replacement keyboard and there was a noticeable difference. So i just used the original keyboard. works great and looks good.

did you have white Bold or black? I heard that changing screen lens is very hard so I don't want to do it.
And why don't you change keyboard to white?

it was black before. i changed the entire housing to white a few months ago but the quality of the ebay housing was quite low and the paint on the keyboard buttons started falling out.

    Jonmark,

Where did you purchase the parts from? Do you have a favorite site you prefer?

I just ordered a new housing/lcd/battery cover/keyboard for my Bold off Ebay. Its a glossy blue, was this a bad idea? Do you think it'll be made cheap from Hong Kong and not align? :\

As far as I know there are no original housings for sale. All made in China.
Quality is different. More expensive - better the quality.

Oh yeah, forgot to say - don't try to change lcd lens. There is a big chance you will break it. Some people claim that it is safe to change but the chances are 50/50. Some people change, some fail. New lcd is expensive.

don't forget that once u change lens, there will be a gap in between the lens and the lcd screen where a lot of dust and dirt can get in and settle behind the lens, making it very annoying.

WOW!! looks real sharp! You all have my mind racing on what to do with mine! i was lucky enough to get a brand new White 9000 today on my re-entrance to BB (back from the void of droid, and GLAD to be back)... the modding of these puppies is the most fun part of being a BB owner!
