Hi, let me be the first to welcome you to Crackberry. Carrier Unlock is one of many unlocking services and are quite reasonable. I believe the option to (wipe handheld) is the one to use, although I never have the need. i do all of my pics, music and videos by dragging and dropping from my computer to my device via the USB cable. I hope this helps and i am sure you will get many other responces from other members.

    Hi and welcome
I agree with quicksilver in using the wipe handheld feature to remove contacts, etc. With regard to removing music, pic and video a lot, if not most, BB users store those on the memory card. If he gave you that also then go to options, memory, then menu and choose format memory card.

For transferring music and pictures Blackberry Media Sync is my choice. It connects to your iTunes and moves the music and playlists to your phone. It also moves your pics. Here's the link to info and the download link BlackBerry Media Sync 3.0 – Now With Photo Sync! | Inside Blackberry

For data transfer I use the desktop manager. go to blackberry.com, software, then desktop, or click here BlackBerry - BlackBerry Desktop Software - BlackBerry Software at BlackBerry.com

Another option for syncing your contacts, calendar, messages and more is mIQ. it's a free app from Best Buy. It's pretty slick in that I can go to the site on my PC, add an event or a new contact and it instantly adds it to my phone. It doesn't sync memos though so at the least you will need to use desktop manager to sync your memos. go to miqlive.com to check it out.

Good luck and welcome to the community

For apps check out the app store BlackBerry Apps and BlackBerry Themes- Crackberry BlackBerry Apps Store

Depends on what you wish to do with the phone. Bolt is a fine alternate browser. Some people prefer Opera Mini 5 beta.

QuickLaunch is invaluable in my world. Along with BerryWeather. Also UberTwitter.

And the list goes on and on. Best of luck with your new phone. I love my 9000. Nothing out there for which I would trade.

best thing for apps is to do a google search for bb apps. if you do it on here you'll find the free apps list. (view from your BB as these are OTA apps)

oh, and like sedalia said: Quicklaunch is invaluable. I too am an avid BerryWeather fan as well as berry pop and berry buzz. download them from mobihand vs app world. app world is always a little behind in terms of updated apps, which is why i don't dl anything from there if i can help it. mobi (which is used by crackberry store) also typically has good deals/discounts. i like reading on my bold so i am also an avid fan of mobipocket as well as ereader and the barnes and noble reader (i have them all since i go for where the best price is

I believe you insert the Fido card in after you unlock your device.
