Hey all,

I've had my Bold for about 1 and a half years now. Yesterday all of a sudden my "A" was acting up. Whatever I do I just can't get the "A" to appear on the screen.

Normally I wouldn't really care, but the problem is that my password starts with an "A"...

Is there a way to reset my password via desktop software?

Hope someone can help me!

Thanks,
Michiel.

There is no way to reset the password.

There is only one way to change a password and thats if you know and type the old password first.

The only thing i can suggest is to buy a new keyboard and what goes under it and change it. Then see if that solves the issue, if you know anyone who is selling a old no good bold for parts or just buy a new keyboard from ebay for like 12-35.00 range or elsewhere.

The reason why there is no RESET options is that would virtually useless to the owners for passwording the phone in the first place as then anyone could RESET it.. right?

OP, normally, you wouldn't care if a button on your keyboard broke? I would! Especially a vowel. Sheesh, you're tolerant. Good luck!

Makes sense - the password thing - stupid me!

And it's just a phone. There are worse things in life.

When you enter the password on the PC so it can access the device, does it actually unlock the device?

I think to unlock the device you need to have PUC code from the network if you have baught a contract.
