Message saying memory full....but it isn't
I recently got an error message saying my memory was full and it took me through the spanish language deletion steps. However, my BB is only a few weeks old, and I really haven't downloaded all that much. Here are my stats:
Application Memory:
Free Space - 4.8MB
Device Memory:
Total Space - 859.2MB
Free Space - 855.7MB
Media Card:
Total Space - 7.3 GB
Free Space - 5.9 GB
Why should I be getting this message? and what can I do about it? I only have 7 apps in my "Download" folder (2 of them being Google based).

Holy crap...!!! You only have 4.8MB file free memory available?!? Are you making sure you're properly closing your apps?

Perform a battery pull and let us know what your app memory shows after that.

I was going to put "Perform a battery pull", but I'm certain that the OP just isn't closing his/her apps completely.

ahh, ok. So its not memory as in rom, its memory as in ram. I see.
So I just did a battery pull and rebooted the phone. I opened no applications. The free memory available is: 27.7 MB

If you are on the original OS, that's about normal. And it will drop as applications take up some memory. If the phone is running ok, then do not stress.

u may have a lot of items resident in your memory
use the ALT + ESC and what programs do you see open?

I'd be interested in seeing the applications you do have. I've noticed there are a lot of apps that just devour free file memory.

The guy above said to hit ALT + ESC but there is no escape key, that I know of. But I did what you asked and here are the results:
