"Leather back" lovers? Check in!

(I did a quick search and didn't see this exact thread...so if I missed it, excuse me.)

If you like your "leather" back, check in. I didn't like the looks at first when I saw them, but now that I have one, I really like it. The looks are...okay I guess. But I am so obsessive and particular about the appearance of my BB (all my things actually) that I like being able to place it on its back without worrying about scratches and swirlies. Plus, it's not as slippery and greasy as you handle it. For me, this simply means less chance of dropping it.

Anyone else feel the same?

Me too. Every time I see someone mod it to make it plain plastic I think how glad I am to not care so much about being different that I'd spend money to make my phone look cheaper. And I completely agree, setting it on its back feels much better on leather than high-gloss plastic. None of the little rub marks my Pearl and Curve got so quickly.

Agreed. I like being able to put my Bold down onto a table without any fear of making a mark on some sort of glossy or plastic back.

i like it a lot. no dirt shows, it doesn't get scratched unless dropped on pavement (horror stories) and feels nice in my hand.

I personally like it a lot. Makes the bold so much more classy. There aren't really any other phones out that have it either

I loved it on my Bold for the same reasons you mentioned. I didn't have a skin or case on my Curve for the longest time and it developed a rub spot. I don't see that problem with the fancypants back on the Bold. +1 RIM, in my opinion.

I'm not a huge fan myself. I was thinking about getting one of the "dull" plain plastic backs from cnn. I don't know. Guess I'm different.

I was debating on getting a regular black backing, but i do like the fact that this is more durable then the other cases

I love it. It's unique, easy to hold, and holds up well vs other materials.

I like the fact that when I have it on it's back on a hard surface and the vibe goes off, it doesn't sound so loud. The leatherette muffles the sound.

Otherwise, the ColorWare custom Bolds are beautiful!!!

another +1 for the leather backing...

even before i ordered it was planning on getting a plan backing but decided to wait and within an hour the leather grew on me so much.

The leather back on the Bold is the bizness! I love the look & wouldnt cover it w/ a skin.
I love the look so much that I found a similar cover for my iPhone.
