switched last week as well. love the battery, camera and memory. trackpad is amazing compare to the trackball. but i miss the keyboard of 9000, feel better than using the 9700.

    Default 9000 Just Right

Guys, I hear what you're saying about the 9700, but the Big Bold is perfect for a big boy like me. I can wrap my hand around my Bold and all my finger tips will touch. Maybe in the future RIM will continue to make at least one large form with all the new goodies. If not, I hope my 9000 lasts for a few years more with some upgrades.

I just want RIM to update the 9000 but keep the size.

The size is what made it so awesome for me.

If they had upgraded the camera, put in the trackpad, and loaded 5.0 and left everything else exactly the same I would bought another. ****, I almost bought a White one just because it was cool looking; but none of the stores around here had it in stock.

They should of done what they doing to the Tour soon,
aka the Essex. Same damn phone in looks and size, cept
with trackpad, 5.0 OS, and all the new goodies. Would of
been the perfect "new" Bold. But my 9700 still a beast!

its not that much of a difference besides the trackpad and camera clarity. just upload the 5.0 OS on the 9000. i have used both for quite some time now. I would prefer the 9000 keyboard for typing though, and at the same time i would prefer the trackpad.

The 9700 is a piece of trash. Used one for a while, went back. My colleague at work HATES his. Its made like a chinese plastic toy. Sure has nice trackpad and new software. Thats it. Camera phones are a joke and not reason to buy. App memory also worthless with a fail of an app store.

Unless RIM releases a new phone with same build quality and form factor as the 9000, I'll be taking a hiatus from blackberry. Lots of great phones out there now with good email functionality and MUCH better browsing.

    +1

My Bold has been the best device I've ever owned, but my interests and desires are evolving much faster than RIM's lineup. My next device will have a snapdragon, a brilliant display, full touch screen with slide out 5 row qwerty, an amazing camera, and a flash browser. I'm giving RIM another half a year to captivate me again, or I'm gone.

HAHAHA made like a chinese toy?! Mine was made in Canada and its
built JUST AS solid as my 9000 sitting right next to it. FAIL
Oh and FYI, your 9000 is a CAMERA PHONE so I guess you're calling
    the 9000 a joke. Lol FAIL 2
Also if you're so worried about apps, go pick up a f'ing Iphone or the
"great other phones" you suggested. Seeya, won't be missed sucka

In these days of my bold change from 9000 to 9700 I'm trying to mentally prepare better.Actually the speed and performance of 9700 exceeds the Bold 9000.
but i still missing my bold 9000 keyboard....... feels much better in my hand.

I like the 9000 LCD size better. When I used the 9700, I was holding the phone closer then before and have to zoom in 3 times to get a comfortable view in browse. BTW, I got 20/20 vision.

My thumbs got sore, it feels cramped.

I moved back to 9000 after a week and it's fine especially with 5.0 OS upgrade.

No interest in the 9700 because I only got my 9000 a year ago and won't be eligible for an upgrade until this summer. I have 5.0 on it and I'm good until perhaps the Magnum comes out later this year.

Not going to get into a pissing contest with you since you're clearly insecure. I said its made "like a Chinese toy". This is from first hand experience. Also, head over to the 9700 forums - every other thread is a complaint on build / QC issues (light leak, etc.).

My point about camera is not that all camera phones are a joke, rather a camera on any phone isnt a reason to buy one as they all suck relative to cameras on cameras.

The 9700 has the highest return/malfunction rate of any BlackBerry to date. This was a biz decision by RIM to increase margins. So keep on with your roll eyes as you fondle your POS 9700. Lemme know when it breaks.

    peace.
