Impossible software problem

Recently received a BB9000 from my friend, and he claimed it doesnt work.

I got it and plugged it into my computer, only to see a blinking red LED and a black screen.

JL_Cmder doesnt recognize, neither does loader, CFP/MFI zip from someone, BBSAK, etc

basically, nothing recognizes it so I have no way of wiping/re-installing the OS.

Any idea what I could do?

I had the same problem with mine when I got it. I found it to be the Charge/data port. When I plugged it in I never heard the connect sound on my computer and it was not recognized as being there. after some playing around I tried re-soldering the five connections on the back of the usb port and it was then recognized and able to connect for updates. Hope this helps.
