HSDPA and the Bold
I was wondering.....When I had the AT&T Tilt I was able to configure it to show me that I was in an area that supported HSDPA download speeds. Is there an indicator or something that lets us know the same with the Bold?
I have been told that just having the "3G" in the upper right hand corner relates to HSDPA supported network. Is this true?
Thanks for your input!

yes thats correct, 3G with the Blackberry logo means you are in HSDPA coverage.
I agree it is kind of confusing, and RIM should have had it say ''3.5G'' or ''H'' like other handsets. - 12-08-2008, 03:01 AM #3
Also depends on the rest of the phone + your carrier.
I had an HTC on t-mobile that was hsdpa and it had poor connection speeds.
The bold on vodafone isn't much slower on 2g, and on 3g it's very fast, several times faster than the htc.
I don't think people appreciate how much part the carrier plays in connection performance, or the phone hardware. A good phone on a poor carrier is a dog - as many people have discovered!
