Is there a certain point at which the SIM should be inserted or released?

Put the SIM back in the Bold first. The only real reason to take it out is to put it in another T-Mo device to pull down the service books, (assuming you have one). If you put it in after, it reregisters with the network, pulls updated service books that over write the old ones, of which do not contain the browser ones you just put on and there for no browser. You follow? FYI you will have to repeat this procedure each time you do an os update. So keep a copy of the browser service books on hand. I would keep a copy on my memory card also.

Default Update

I have been able to get the WAP on there and MMS. And I have the choice now of Internet Browser, Hotspot, and Tzones..
HERE IS THE PROBLEM...

when I click on browser to go to a page nothing happens.
This is the message I get on my phone.

"Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later.

If the problem persists please contact your service provider."

ALSO,
I resent my service books from the Tmobile website TWICE and they never show up on my phone..

please advise

THANKS

Got it, this works. The key is to start the process with the Bold with the tmo SIM in the phone the whole time - not a the end or partway through. Thanks!

I bought a Bold from a Tmobile store in Germany... I don't have an old BB to use and when I try to use that program from the BIS/BES site ( Enable BlackBerry Browser without BIS/BES (BlackBerry Without BIS/BES) ) it says it isn't compatible with 64bit vista... Help? Not really sure what to do.

Follow the steps I provided in post 13. And use the service books I uploaded in post 19. You will also need a copy of your OS on your pc. So it's as good a time as any to update it. You can find it here....http://forums.crackberry.com/f83/new...ghlight=newest

Go to C:\program files\common files\RIM\shared\loader files\{your OS here}\java. Create a new folder called removed. Locate the net_rim_bb_browser_daemon.cod and move this module to the folder you created. Now run app loader and the browser will be removed. Next go to back up/restore>advanced drop the service books into the left box to restore them to device. Go back to the removed folder take the module back out and delete the folder. Run app loader again to reinstall the browser and POOF! Your live BABY! Resend your service books to restore your email.
So I have to do this in Windows? Because I don't have a C drive in Mac. Also the app from Enable BlackBerry Browser without BIS/BES (BlackBerry Without BIS/BES) doesn't work with 64 bit Vista.

Since the bold is my first BB, can anyone please post how to do this without having an old BB? I would really appreciate it.

Instead search/find the file. net_rim_bb_browser_daemon.cod Remember you have to have the os installed to your computer to have this. The net_rim_bb_browser_daemon.cod module is inside the java folder. It's usually in about the fourth row down. Create a folder to move it into. Connect BB run app loader this will remove the browser. Then go to back up restore, advanced. In the box on the left open the service books I uploaded in post 13 and transfer them to your Bold. Go back to the java folder and remove and replace the net_rim_bb_browser_daemon.cod module. Run app loader again and the browser will be restored and working.

Do I remove the 'net_rim_bb_browser_daemon.cod' before i update the firmware on the phone? I copied the file to my desktop and ran the update for the firmware.
