Woodyou, the problem is you need Service pack 2. You can download it from MS. Or there is another way. PM me when you get back on the ground.

Fabini, Do you not have winzip?

With desk top manager. Go to back up/ restore>create back up. You should get in the habit of backing up regularly. I do all of mine and the wifie's every Sunday night. Probably overkill but make one at least monthly.

Ok folks, you've just about convinced me. As you can see, I have an old bb. Can anyone chime in on the easiest/safest way to purchase a Bold and unlock code? If I purchase from ATT or Best Buy, do I need to purchase any service at all? (I understand I don't need to buy the "no plan" option, but do they require activation?)
Thanks in advance.

The easiest will be to just go to Best Buy. I've heard att won't sell them without there service in some places. Bbenriched.com is a good unlock service online. Takes a few hours to a day. Once unlocked you put your SIM card in and its activated. Then do the steps in the guide and you'll have all features except 3g.

Can someone help me witth the guide that zaventh came up for using the Bold on T-Mobile? I downloaded the T-Mobile generic Service Books and CrackUtil. When I have my Bold connected, and try to open CrackUtil, I get an error message: "An error occured while trying to replace the existing fileeleteFile failed; code 5 Access is denied." Tried the process several times with the same result. Can anyone help me?

Thanks for the purchase info. Best Buy is running 18 months free financing...so with that and your selfless contributions to this thread...the universe wants me to own a Bold.
