How to get GSM back to EDGE?

My phone overheats when I turn on 3G so I usually use it on 2G. Today it went from EDGE to GSM and I called customer service they reset my network and I tried battery pull taking out the sim card nothing has worked . I can't receive any bbm or go on twitter or fb etc . Is there any way to fix this? I've also tried telling them to add and readd my data plan but it still hasnt fixed it

Is Data Services on under you mobile network options? Do any of the data services work while using wifi? Have you tried reinstalling the OS?

As we try several things I think your BB has a hardware problem.
Try to find a good mechanic to fix it.

Its not a hardware problem... Its a network problem.. I had that problem earlier this week... Jus called customer service to reset my plan and it worked

Try this:

Go to Manage Connections.

>Mobile Network Options

>Network Selection Mode: MANUAL

>Choose Available Networks

From here, choose any other Networks. (Other than the one you are currently using). I recommend choosing a Network which you think has the best signal/coverage. Choose other network for a while (you will get SOS). Leave it for a few seconds. After that, choose your Network again.
