How To Get BB Maps Onto AT&T Bold Through Desktop Manager

I realize this thread already exists, but I can't seem to find the answer I need in it. I just got my AT&T Bold on launch day in the US. I know that you can get BB Maps onto it by using the Silver Theme as the AT&T theme hides it.

My question is how can you get BB Maps into the Desktop Manager Add/Remove Applications window?

I know you need to have a certain OS, but I'm not sure which or how to check which version my phone is running. Any help is most appreciated as I do not want to be cheated out of $10 a month by AT&T for Telenav.

Just connect device open dm goto application loader put a check next to bbmaps then continue.

That's my problem, there is no box to check with a BB Maps option. How can I get it in there so that I can check it?
