Default How to disable radio permanently?

I have a young daughter that is always grabbing for my phone(9800). We have an old 9000 we have given her to play with. I have a concern she may dial 911 when I'm not looking. Is there a way to disable emergency calls? Maybe remove the radio antenna?

Even on none activated phones, E911 will always function.

That is a requirement, that any cell phone, even inactive, have the capability to call 911.

It may seem like a PITA, but an inactive phone being able to save a life is pretty good, in my book.

If she still plays with it with out the battery, then pull it out and have her use it with out power.

I was hoping there would be an antenna that could be removed. Looking around inside I don't see anything. Is it in that black adhesive strip under the battery door?

Not sure if it possible, but start up bbsak and remove the phone application from the device.

I wish she liked fisher price better. I have had the phone since new. It started behaving oddly years ago and only got worse. It's been in the drawer ever since I got my torch. I would never try to ebay it. Just wouldn't be fair to a buyer. The other option is the trash can.

This is a pretty stupid suggestion. Destroy a working device. Just remove the phone application. No dialing possible but also not sure if the device will work at all.

GSM phones can even dial 911 without a SIM card in them?
