hissing sound and a quirky software glitch
Is a slight hissing sound from the speaker normal? Like a dog whistle?
And secondly the other day my software went kaput ...and suddenly there were like a million address book icons and nothing else. I had to reset it.
Anyone else with similar problems?

It is there perpetually... It is like an antenna -mechanical sound. I pick the phone up and it is there.
No OS changes. Just got this as a replacement after the previous one had a speaker malfunction.
The set is "made in Hungary" btw if that is important.

That sound is not normal at all. I would think it's hardware related. If you can replicate it at any time, bring it back to where you got it and they should replace it under the manufacturers warranty.
