Help with my replaced screen
Hello everybody, im new to crackberry

Basically i had cracked my BB bold screen a week or 2 ago (im pretty sure it was the lens that was cracked as ink was leaking out of a hairline mark). Anyways i had ordered a new replacement screen from turnonyourmobile.co.uk and it arrived today, i installed the replacement screen according to the tutorial from cnn.cn and now when i turned the device on im left with a blank white screen. I'm still able to recieve and make calls so im assuming the device itself is still working. So can anyone suggest what may be the problem? could the replacement screen be defective? do i try it with another replacement screen?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks - 04-02-2009, 11:45 PM #3
Well I tryed exchanging. Lcd lens between two bolds one was made in hungria and the other in mexico..the hungria one had a yellowish tint so I wanted to swap...it was a no go the lense couldn't be swapped if the phones we're made in diffrent countries..I spoke to a rep in RIM and when you buy a lcd lens you gotta make sure its oem unbranded.. I tried everything to make the lcd lens work and nothing...Weird but true call Rim yourself and check....

There are three types of screens for the Bold. 001/004, 002/004 and 003/004. You must have to correct one or it won't work with your phone. Check out posts #16 and #19 of this thread... http://forums.crackberry.com/f83/bol...95/index2.html

Well mine is dead. The screen is gone and I don't even know if ordering a LCD is worth it.
I learned about the different versions of the Bold when I ordered a midplate from CNN.cn for mine and it didn't work. The thing is that in CNN it doesn't say anything about the different versions. It doesn't even give you a choice.Call me Ms. Queen B - 04-09-2009, 09:34 AM #6
Try contacting CNN and asking what version of the Bold products they carry. If it matches your version it may be worth ordering a repalcement LCD.
