Go to Options>Memory. Scroll down to your media card and click. Select Format.

When you hook it up to the pc with a cable and start the bb desktop, go to media, and you'll see two panes, one will be the pc, the other will show the phone and the media card. You can put your stuff in the folders it creates.
What I usually do is take the micro sd card out and put it in an adapter, and put it in the sd slot in my laptop. Then I open my computer and drag stuff to it there.

Enable Mass Storage
Under My Computer you should see both your card and the available storage on the phone.Tronyx's Important & Popular Blackberry Links (This one is worth the visit, Kids)

Put them into the existing folders. Once you are through and disconnected, when you go to each of the media types you will see at the bottom where your phone is scanning. Takes a bit, but let it finish. Your stuff will be there.
