Default Having trouble with BB Messenger

Hello, first off i apologize because i know this subject is fairly repetitive... I just switched from my curve to the bold and i love it.. the only problem is i can not add contacts to my bb messenger on my bold.. i consider myself somewhat savvy with the phones and the bb mess. i've tried requesting by pin, email, and by contact. none of those worked, it's just "pending" and when i ask my buddies, none of them received a request.... so i have them request me via pin, email, and whatever else and NOTHING... it's beginning to get pretty frustrating..any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. thanks alot

No I've tried that as well. When I send it, the good ol red "x" appears next to the message in the outbox indicating it failed to send

Same problem I have been having for a week now. Mine is not provisioned correctly. Go to Options>Advanced Options>Sevice Books. Let me know if you have a PROVISIONING service book.

Nope!! I don't even see the word PROVISION under service book... Damn, is that a problem?? And I'm assuming you haven't been able to correct the problem on your end?

I don't have a BOLD but what I would try to do is have the service books resent. on T-Mobile I can do it from their website by logging in, but I'm not sure if that can be done through ATT. Hope this helps.

So it may be the service book? I'll hop on the att site, log in and explore that suggestion.. I don't even know what the service book is to be honest, but i'll try and learn as I go.. Thanks alot

I don't know how the ATT site is when you log in, but in case you don't have the link to the ATT BIS site you can find it here BlackBerry Internet Service. With Rogers, along the left hand side it says very clearly "Service Books" and you click on it and then click "send service books". You generally get an email message that says "Activation Server" in the subject line and the subject reads like "your device has been successfully registered on the network"

Have you tried using your Internet Browser? Sending emails?

Are you using wifi or do you have a data plan? BBM runs on data so if you use exclusively wifi then it won't work.

Did you find the service books and send them?

Have you tried adding YOURSELF to your BBM contacts? Try that.

I had the same problem today after I added my data plan. Then I noticed that my pin, and imei numbers were still from when I had my Curve. So make sure that you update your PIN and IMEI numbers on the BIS site, then resend the service books. This worked great for me and I have not had any problems since. Hope this helps.

There IS a problem but with your carrier. You need to call AT&T tech support. Tell them you tried logging into BIS and it told you that your account is suspended and to contact the system administrator.

Yep, ATT screwed the pooch on this one. For some, not all. I know a lot of people are having nothing but glowing experiences with their ATT Bolds, but it is becoming increasingly obvious why they delayed the launch for so long. If this is what they call a "prouction" launch, when whole blocks of PINs don't work properly, I would hate to see what it looked like back in June. I am very glad I had a good Bold experience before getting the ATT unit I got from the store at launch. Soon as I get rid of my migraine, that thing is going back where it belongs; "refurb-land".

My current dilemma is this: do I risk the potential pain and suffering again by opening the second ATT unit which was just delivered to my door? All the sense in the world tells me to stick with the Rogers unit I am currently typing on, but you know what? I am a glutton for punishment. Really, sado-masochist style, I will give you 100:1 odds that the seal will be broken on that box before the evening is out.

I am trying to go from "great" to "greater", and I think there's nuthin' but disappointment on that train.

Ahh..come to find out finally that the device I purchased came up as stolen in RIM's records. Why it took them so long to find this out is beyond me.

    Hi there,

I am hoping that someone can help. I have 3 contacts on BB Messenger. The problem is - I can only see 2 of the 3. I have tried collapsing and expanding and nothing works. Is there a way to see this other contact? I tried to add another one - and get the same thing everyone else is getting. HELP!
