Default GChat service and personal email not available? eh

Hi,

At my previous company, I was given a Bold 9000. It may have been connected to some Telstra specific BES infrastructure, but the details are unknown to me.

After leaving the said company, I was given the phone to keep. Therefore, I contacted Telstra and asked them if they could transfer the phone number to a personal pre-paid account for me.

I have since upgraded the OS to v5.0.0.771 (Bundle 1301, Platform 5.2.0.27).

I'm trying to use GChat and I'm having issues; the following message is displayed when logging in:

"Service not enabled for this handheld".

I'm also having problems setting up a personal email account, i.e. gmail. When I go to Home > Setup > Setup Wizard > Email Setup, the only option available is:

"I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server"

I've tried refreshing the Host Routing Table without success.
