Flickering white..then nothing!!

Hi everyone,

Was just cleaning the back cover on my Bold with a very slightly damp (not wet) cloth. I turned the Bold around to see a flickering white screen with a grey mark at the top. Then after a few minutes, nothing! Totally off.

I've tried all the obvious and when I press keys I hear the dialing tone so the phone must still work. The screen gave a white flash once as I was pressing keys.

What has happened????????????? Too much pressure on the screen?

Also ever since I got it, if you put pressure on the screen you'd see a temporary white spot, a bit like a TFT monitor.

White screen just came back with a big grey mark on the top right.

What's going on???????

As long as the water damage stickers aren't red, I'd just have them replace the phone. Say the screen stopped displaying properly.

Took it too a small shop here I would have never found on my own. Guy had it open in seconds, fiddled around a bit and used what I think was alcohol. Screen came back on! He said it was water damage. The grey mark is still there when you are on a white screen but I think it has faded a bit.
