I will email transfer $10 dollars to the person who helps me fix it.
Thanks. - 08-29-2009, 06:14 PM #2
Did you delete the vendor.xml file?

Were do I find that?

Open windows explorer and goto C/: program files/common files/research in motion/app loader (I think) find and delete "vendor.xml" then run the loader again.
Edit: Darn smiley

This has nothing to do with the vendor file. Are you sure the
Operating System you are trying is the one for your phone.
I read that error to mean it isn't - 08-29-2009, 06:30 PM #6

I am not sure just downloaded to the unbranded Os from blackberry. How do I tell what Os is the right one?

Uninstall (from PC) the OS you are trying to install.
Download and use this instead.

go to control panel---> uninstall programs

Google and Download BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife, Delete the other OS that did not work from your PC, should be under Control Panel>Programs/Uninstall Programs, Delete Current OS , Download and install OS .297 to your PC, Connect your phone to PC, Open BBSAK, Hit Wipe Device (Should give you intentional 507 Error), then on BBSAK hit Load OS. Solved.

You don't have to be an att customer to load the OS. People regardless of what carrier they are on are running an OS that is not for their carrier. People on att run on rogers .282, or asia .282 or vodaphone .282...
It doesn't matter as long as you delete the vendor.xml file before installing.

That time has come. Not only that but I no longer own any BlackBerry devices at all. Maybe in the future if RIM steps up their game I'll consider owning one again, but as it is right now, they just aren't competitive in the user market, and they never really have been. Theyre good at what they do, which is push E-mail but that's about it. Time will tell.

Almost there, but I get this error. Is it because I did not properly delete the vendor file? I just deleted it to recycle bin, and the cleared the recycle bin. Common, I want to pay someone.

Try this. Pull your battery out. You need to open the apploader by using command promts. The apoader will show unknown device. As soon as it shows your pin put the battery in. That should fix the issue.

Sorry to tell you this but i'm pretty familiar with the Error 507.. i've gotten it like almost 6 times since i got my Bold a year ago. I think i can attribute this to the increasing number of Blackberry apps that i install and remove on a regular basis.
I have found NO WAY to retrieve my files and the only option available (FOR ME that is) was to reinstall the Bold OS from scratch... which meant that i lost everything that was on the bold (contacts, emails, sms's, settings, software).
The only solution i found was to head over to BlackBerry 101: How to Reload the Operating System on a Nuked BlackBerry | CrackBerry.com
That only worked for me. Learnt my lesson and now i backup my Bold once a month. - 08-30-2009, 04:38 AM #19
I get a 507 almost every time I update too, but that's because I always wipe before a reinstall or upgrade.
If you have a backup, you have nothing to worry about.

BBSAK should delete the Vendor.xml file on its own when you hit Load OS... is this what you did and you got that error message?
Also, did you wipe device using BBSAK? ...Hopefully you have a previous back up somewhere..."I like my women like I like my loafers: expensive, fit, and more often than not, with a bit of bling around their necks." - 08-30-2009, 08:57 AM

It tried to load it using BBSAK and I got that message. Then Imanually deleted the vendor.xml and tried again. No go.

Real post....
ive had the phone for 11 days now, upgraded os to .247, unbranded using a different vsm, and, worst of all, i have broken the warranty seal because i blacked the bold out... - 08-30-2009, 09:57 AM

Ok,
Here is the deal. I bought this phone for 50 bucks, with the error. i have been reading some threads, and apparently that my phone is probably a beta version. Where can i get the beta OS? When in the software modules on apploader it says i have rim9000.sfi 4.0.2 or something. Any help would be appreciated, and if my phone gets going, you could have yourself a 10er. - 08-30-2009, 10:00 AM #24
I would do what bt224 said. I thought any OS would work on a beta phone, apparently I misspoke.
