    Default Direction of trackball

Ok so I installed a new trackball and it scrolls but hesitates at times.
What direction does the bottom metal contact need to face?
On my curve it doesn't matter I'm wondering if it does on
    The Bold?

The metal contact has to be facing your right side , that is , pointing to the right

I thought the trackball could sit only one way, as the grooves dictate

I would have thought the same. My curve the trackball
Works with the round contact facing the screen and with it facing the bottom of the keyboard

On the bold trackball assembly there are two pilot holes on the main board that only allow the trackball assembly to be positioned on of two ways. I put mine in and it works perfectly in either orientation. Maybe you contaminated a sensor or dust got in there when you lifted her skirt up to remove the trackball? lol

lol that was a good one. So the round contact should sit
Facing either right or left? What direction Is urs? I installed it
With the contact facing up and that explains my issues scrolling lol.
