Dictionary.com problem.
Hi all,
This one's weird.
I follow the link from Crackberry to the App store and enter my BB email from the provided Dictionary.com link to download the free dictionary app.
I receive an email from the site and follow the link in it to start downloading. Except it doesn't download, it takes me back round in a loop to the ''Enter your BB email address here'' box on the Dictionary.com site.
Ad infinitum....
Erm....
Help please!!
I have a Bold 9000 and on O2 in the U.K. - 10-14-2009, 07:28 AM #2
I got dictionary.com directly from my phone's browser by going to:
m.dictionary.com and just followed the prompts to get the app on your blackberry.

I think there is a problem getting this app if you are outside of the US.
Click on this link from your phone's browser:

Cheers.
I'll try that now.
Pete.
Edit: No. No download links on the site for me.
No problems, mate. Thanks for your assistance.

The link in my previous post from my PHONE'S browser goes right to the download, but it goes to the dictionary site when I go there thru my PC.
Make sure you are going there from your phone but if this doesn't work then there must be a problem with this app outside of the US.
Cheers!
The actual address is: dictionary.reference.com/blackberry/download

I live in Singapore and can download it without any problem. However, I always got error when launch the program "server could not be reached. Please check radio or try at a later time."
I doubt it could be software bug as I can access to internet without any problem and the application works if I connect through Wifi.
Any idea?

I think I have, yes. I'm sure it ended with me just emailing the link, then following the link to email myself etc. etc.
I will try again, though.
As above.
Thanks.
I have tried via 3G and WiFi; no difference.
I have always trued to download it via my BB, never my PC.
Here we go again..........

Nope!
Tried at least 6 times to download it from App World and the Dictionary.com mobile site, and nothing.
I just get to email the link to myself, and whenever the email containing the link arrives, it just asks me to email the link to myself.
Don't know what's going on, but I've tried enough times to know it won't work for me.
At no point do I see a 'Download' button or link, just the box to enter an email address.

More Dictionary.com Issues
Sorry about ressurecting this old topic, but I've been having trouble with this app as well - I have successfully downloaded it twice; once from the App World app and once directly from dictionary.com's website, however when I try to run it, I always get a message telling me that "Dictionary.com is requesting changes to its application control permissions." No matter what I set them to, I always get this message when I start the app; an update that was made available today didn't fix this problem.
I'm using an 8310 and I'm in Canada, so this could be part of the earlier theory that this app is challenged outside of the U.S. Does anyone have any thoughts?Last edited by natsfan17; 11-27-2009 at 02:23 PM. Reason: typo

I'm having the same problem as you natsfan. I've tried it through 3G and wireless and and I'm getting an error stating "Connection not established! Please check your mobile or wireless internet connection and try again." Im on a Bold 9000 in Canada. Is this a problem for others in this 'neighbourhood'?
