Default Damaged Phone

I have (had) a BB 9000 for work which I lost and has since been returned. Unfortunately it was damaged considerably and the screen doesn't work as it's severely cracked. So although it will charge I can't see anything on it. I had a number of files on the memo pad that I am very keen to get off the phone (lesson learnt about backing up my files!). I have attached the phone to the media manager but can't access the memo pad - I can see that there are 19 memo pad files on there but they are greyed out and won't let me access them. Is there any way I can retrieve the files?

Media Manager can't access the Memo Pad entries. It only accesses MEDIA files.

If you sync the device with Microsoft Outlook, you should get the Memo Pad entries.

Alternately, backup the device with the BlackBerry Desktop software and use software such as MagicBerry on your computer to read the data in the backup file.

I wasn't sure this would work - not because you don't know what you are talking about but I doubted I knew how to make it happen. The handset was so badly damaged I couldn't get the battery to charge again without putting it in another handset. And when I had backed up the file it was so small I was sure it couldn't possibly contain all the memo files.

But it did! You are a genius. You have just saved me hours and hours of work. Thank you
