OS6 can't even be installed on, just OS5 that's the best it gets with limited memory for apps. The latest OS available is the very first thread on this page.

Not sure how to get it to connect through usb! I'm having the same problem on a Mac.

i will try this u should also try ...
1. Go to the article kb19717 on blackberry site .

2. Toward the bottom it has a fix but says this does not work for a Mac. What it actually means is that you cannot instal the fix onto your BB from OS X. So, what I did, was to borrow a friends PC and download BB Desktop Managers and the calfix.exe fix on that. I opened Desktop Manager on the PC and then ran the calfix.exe which applied the fix to my BB.

3. I then connected the BB to my Mac via a USB it was immediately recognised as a Mass Storage Device (settings set to turned on) and the media card was accessible in BB Desktop Manager for Mac and in Finder. Further tests revealed it also worked with Missing Sync.

So the answer appears to be borrow a PC to load the patch onto your BB. Annoying that RIM can't be bothered to have provided OS X equivalent to calfix.exe. Anyway, a very frustrating problem easily solved by using your mates PC.

ok as mentioned above earlier, BB 9000 OS's do not go above 5.**** ...........so you're stuck with OS5. As for your connection problems now....hmmm... does the red light come up any at all? I'm wondering also if it's a dead battery you also have , but even though, when you plug on the phone without a battery in it, the red light supposed to at least come up once and go off.

if the OS on your phone has crashed by whatever means, and your batter is drained, then it will not charge in the phone. If I were you, my next step would be to find someone with a battery like yours ( BB9700 and BB9780 also use the same battery as your phone) and try it in your phone n' try connect to the PC then

The Phone is getting some java error so i thought re-install of OS is good and it will updated also, when i plug it in, it charges for a sec then go off but sometimes it keeps charging but not show up as a mass storage device, also tried calfix.exe but it's stuck at "connecting to bootrom"
