Default Calendar issue, at wits end...

My Bold 9000 is deleting past calendar events. It has done this before, and the only way I ever know is when I sync with Desktop Manager and it shows like 50 deletions to confirm. I have had this problem in the past, but after hours of jacking around and syncing one way, I get it resolved...only to have it happen a few weeks later. First, I do have "Keep Appointments" set to "forever," and always have. It doesn't change. I have checked all my settings in Outlook, but have realized that this is happening before I sync. My Outlook Calendar has all the past dates, but my blackberry has deleted them (hence the conflict). The only way I can resolve this is to do a one way sync, from Outlook to the Bold, then go back in and add everything new I have added to Bold since the last sync. That is a pain in the rear. I'm not sure what is causing this, but any help would be appreciated. I am at wits end and am about to dump Blackberry forever and go to something that is more reliable. THANKS!

What is your file free memory? If memory gets low the device will start deleting calendar events, emails, SMS to preserve itself.

My free memory is 789 out of 859...so that is not the problem. The only time it wants to delete is when I sync with Blackberry Desktop. I just tried to sync and it wants to delete 66 calendar events for no reason. The only work around I can find is to copy one way from my phone to Outlook so I can get all the new stuff onto Outlook, then go back and copy one way from Outlook to phone...which is completely ridiculous!!! I have tried everything and have no idea how to fix. It just started doing this a few months ago, and I am about to quit BB forever over it. Please help!

Calendar sync...possible solution

Please understand this may not be exactly what you're looking but:

Here's what I discovered, give it a shot. it's a working workaround, sorry it's not perfect, but you

don't have to deal with millions of duplicates when you attempt to sync your Google Sync with the BB

calendar app.

Do this:
Sign in to your Google account using BB's web browser. Then access the Calendar feature from a WEB PAGE.

Do NOT use the BB Calendar application that's built into the memory. Google's mobile Calendar page will

show you an agenda and a Quick Add space where you can add new events to your calendar WITHOUT EVER USING

THE BB CALENDAR APP. It will sync to your Google calendar, and the only difference is, you bookmark in

your Web favorites to access your calendar app. With BB's push browser, you'll stay as synced as you

possibly can in real time, AND YOU ONLY HAVE TO INPUT AN APPOINTMENT ONCE FOR IT TO STICK. And best of

all, NO DUPES!

Sorry if I am on the late freight, but hey, it took me a few weeks on my new BB 9360 Curve to get it to

work this way. Hope it helps!

One more thing...make sure you hide the BB calendar so you don't accidentally access it instead of the

web.

Update: I've using this procedure since I first posted on 4/10/12 with NO PROBLEMS...NONE!!!

The BlackBerry Calendar deleting appointments older than a specific date is a long standing bug that crosses devices, carriers, and OS versions, and affects both BES and BIS users. It's been a problem for years. I don't think RIM can solve it. I haven't tried the solution given in the preceding post since I'm a BES user and sync to Outlook. My calendar deletes non-recurring appointments older than 13 months and always has.
