Bold Trackball NO CLICK???
My Bold Trackball moves and when pushed clicks but nothing happens.
If i move the ball and use the "enter " key the application works.
Any idea what to do with a ball that clicks but no action? Keep it clean!
How to fix, replace, smash?
Really upset right now!!

You may not need to replace it. I just took my Bold apart yesterday, took the trackball module out and found that (a) the contact on the motherboard was dirty and (b) there was a wad of fuzz that had collected on the bottom of the module. A toothpick was all it took to pick the fuzz out, followed by a cleaning of the ball (roll it around) and the contact with an alcohol pad. Put it all together and it's as good as new.
Before anyone asks, Google is your friend, there are PLENTY of videos and how-tos on how to disassemble the Bold.

its definitely not the trackball... its the yellow sticker under the trackball. It probably has some black scum stuck to it. I had the same problem.
When you disassemble your bold and find that the yellow sticker under the trackball is dirty, just clean it off with a cue-tip and alcohol. Or scrape it with the cue tip if you dont have alcohol. If that works, then your good to go!
If that doesnt work, then remove the sticker (the yellow sticker is very thin, and so peel it carefully) and find the dome shaped metallic thing underneath. Clean that off at the bottom with a cue tip and alcohol.
Hope that helps.
BUT REMEMBER! if you still have warranty, then you should just get the phone replaced.
OK here is what I found.
Cleaned the ball, yellow sticker and the contacts.
The ball is surly not the problem, the part on the curcit board is bad.

Since you said it's not the trackball, this link for a new trackball + toolkit won't help but maybe someone else will find it useful.
Couldn't determine the trackball with work with a Bold.
No it is not under warrant.

OK Status Update.
We all know it like giving up your first born, to send out your BB.
But I had to send it.
I have my Bold back from the repair.
YES they have fixed the "No Click" had to replace a module under the ball on the circuit board.
The service was great and the customer service was more than I expected.
The unit was fixed, and while it was out I had them upgrade and replace the ball and new "red letter" keyboard.
I would recommend this company for the repairs.
Quality workmanship, customer service and communication.
We all know life without your BB can be long.
The only thing I would change about the process is faster shipping both ways.
The shipping used to sent was slow and the lag in the Customs caused more delay.
Even on the return the customs caused a day delay in delivery.
With out question I would feel comfortable sending my phone to them for the repairs!!!!
