I have had the same problem. I actually just removed the back cover, and the volume came back. I noticed if I pressed the back cover, whilst locking it in at the top, it once again destroyed the volume. Hmmmm..makes me wonder what they were thinking in making such a fragile speaker.

After just doing the stick a piece of paper in the back thing for a while, it seems like my speakers finally just shut down. I ordered a mid-plate and will post results.

I this topic is dead but it's still worth a try.

My Bold 9000's speakers were almost completely silent. So I pressed down on the speaker. Now the speaker is definitely audible, but it's still much louder when I press down. Is this normal? Or am I going to have to unscrew the back?
