    Question BOLD Repair in GTA??

I have a refurbished Bold and it has the screen flicker problem when the screen dims. The warranty is void on it and I need to fix this problem. I tried re-installing the OS. After that the flicker was very minor but after a couple of days it's back with a vengeance.

Tragically this is my 4th bold in 6 months. I've had non-stop hardware issues with the Bold and this last one I received was flickering straight out of the box. Very bad Rogers, very bad. I complained a lot and protested that I don't want another Bold. In turn I was given a Brand New Curve 8900. But they voided the warranty on the Bold I have. I just want to find a way to repair the screen flicker and than sell it.

I live in Toronto and I was thinking of going to Pacific Mall to see what I can discover up there but if there's a way to do it via software that would be amazing. If not does anybody know a spot in the GTA that will repair the Bold at a reasonable price?

Sounds like a hardware issue, not software. You can try replacing the LCD but its not guaranteed to be the problem. I doubt you will find anyone cheap and an LCD is going to cost you like $80 from cnn.cn anyways. I think you are better off just selling it as is. I would give you $50 for it.

What screen flicker issue? You need to describe exactly what you see and think is wrong/

Most users reporting problems seem to be confused by the autodim and power saving features, the phone is WAD. This seems even more likely if you've had several phones with the same so called fault.

I haven't had the same problem with my Bold's. It's always a different issue... blown speaker, backlight doesn't come on unless I push in on the display with my thumb. Just bad luck with the Bold. The issue I'm speaking of is when I do a reset and the clock is displayed during start-up it flickers and moves vertically up and down very quickly. Once the phone starts it's fine until the screen dims to go into standby. The screen flickers and the icons and background twitch vertically very rapidly just like the clock does at start up. This only happends during dimming of the screen. If I try to view the screen in the dark and it auto dims it starts flickering until it's full brightness.

No way I'm gonna sell this Bold for $50. Let's say it is the screen and I repair it for $100. I can easily get $400 on Ebay. That's $300 in my pocket.

That's not a screen issue. Sounds more like a mainboard video problem or the power supply is unstable.
