Exclamation Bold keeps randomly restarting!

Today I traded my iphone for a bold 9000. I found out that the bold 9000 keeps rebooting randomly out of nowhere it happened at least 5 times. The guy that I traded with said that he updated to the newest os 5.0.0.822 but he said that the older os had no problems when he used it. I'm not sure if its the os problem or not. Can anyone help me out on how to fix this problem? It is also unlocked the original carrier is rogers and the carrier im using now is fido.

I have two ideas and two solutions.
First one is: reinstall OS. Don't install 5.0.0.882 , install .681 instead. You will need about 3 hours to learn how to install the new OS, once you know it you can do it in 10-15 minutes. Here is a guide to get you started:
How To: Upgrade BB With(out) a Data plan! - BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community

You can get the .681 OS from here https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...2BAA6EBC8B872D - make sure you select All Languages .681.exe - it's the third option I think.

If the problem persists after installing the new OS maybe you wanna check if the battery isn't moving inside your phone. Try adding a piece of plastic or anything you can think of between the back case and the battery, and also inside the battery slot in the upper left side corner of your battery, inside the battery hatch between the hatch vertical wall and the battery (not underneath the battery) - try inserting them in such a manner that the battery will have less space and will be forcibly pushed down against the golden power connector.
The first plastic helps the battery not move vertically and the second one helps it not moving horizontally.

If none of the solutions work then I suggest trying to find a store that sells second-hand phones because usually these kinds of stores have a repair shop, you could take it in and wait for the phone to be finished, the guy just needs to open it up and check the connections because the phone might have been dropped in a liquid like water and minerals deposited on the connections making them short-circuit once in a while.

I really do hope this helps and you get to enjoy your Bold 9000 like I do.
By the way, I also got my Bold 9000 by trading my iPhone 3GS

1) Do a DM backup
2) Do a complete WIPE using a program like BBSAK
BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife (BBSAK) v1.6 Released | CrackBerry.com
3) Install the next to latest OS (not the current)
http://forums.crackberry.com/f151/of...mobile-471197/
4) DO NOT INSTALL ANY THIRD PARTY APPS.
DELETE ALL 3RD PARTY APPS THAT ARE THERE AFTER THE OS RE-INSTALL.

5) Test the phone for a few days.
6) IF ALL IS WELL THEN ADD ADDITIONAL THIRD PARTY APPS ONE AT A TIME ..
TEST A FEW DAYS BEFORE YOU ADD ANOTHER APP.

Third party apps are usually the cause for the re-boot problem.

you say
> The guy that I traded with
meaning you bought an old phone.

Look inside. There are a couple of paper stickers, usually one under the battery and another over a screw. Are any of them RED or other then white? This means that the phone was wet. In that case the problem can not be easily resolved.

I had this same issue, make sure the 6 screws are tightened down on the back of the phone. Mine had managed to loosen themselves and cause this exact issue.
