bold hangs

Before its running fine but just today when I'm not using it for about 10 mins my bold hangs
And and only button that's working is alt.can somebody pls help me and tell me what to do with
This problem? I tried to uninstall some programs and wipe my handheld as well but its still thesame,
Help pls.

Is it frozen at the home screen or what? Little more info would help, What OS are you running, Are using using a custom theme, etc.

Try updating to the 216 OS and see if that resolves your problems...if it doesnt then i suggest getting it replaced...could be a faulty device.

I called my provider and they sent me the latest os for my bold, I install it to my laptop then
I run the dm then update then after that its like nothing has happen, my bold still hangs and the version
Is still thesame..can somebdoy pls help me how to update? My bold freezes when I'm not using

if the version is still the same, it means the new os is not loaded

normally, u need to delete the vendor xml file but since u mentioned that the os was from your provider, u can skip that step

uninstall and reinstall both DM and the os

are u using DM 4.6 or 4.7

im not yet sure about the version of my DM but i will check it later once i got home, but whats the difference between 4.6 and 4.7?, my app version now is 4.6.0.162 (292), platform 4.0.0.155...hope i can solve my problem later..pls help. tia!

btw when it freezes only alt button is working, the rest is not working anymore so the only thing is remove the battery..

i would suggest upgrading the device OS. The latest official os is 4.6.0.216. It is stickied at the beginning of this forum and there are instructions too ...

In a nutshell, what u got to do is :

1. Download the OS
2. Install it on your PC
3. Delete the vendor.xml file
4. Start the Desktop Manager and Connect your BB
5. The DM will prompt you to update the device ...
